Travel to Philadelphia

There are several methods to get to Philadelphia from the East Coast region, and then from the center of Philly to the actual campus and hotels/lodgings nearby. Here are the most well-known:

• Car (auto/manual, rented, owned, etc.)
• Bus (Greyhound, Chinatown buses, etc.)
• Train (NJ Transit, Amtrak, SEPTA, etc.)
• Plane (Southwest, AA, US Airways, etc.)

Travel to Campus

The three primary locations that you will probably be arriving at, especially with public forms of transportation, are:

• From 30th Street Station (Amtrak Station & SEPTA Regional Road Station)
• From University City Regional Rail Station (SEPTA Airport Express Train)
• From Philadelphia International Airport

By Car (to Sheraton University City Hotel)

From the Northeast via the New Jersey Turnpike South
Use Exit 4. Bear right out of the toll following signs to Philadelphia and Ben Franklin Bridge. After crossing the bridge take I-676 West, to I-76 East, the Schuylkill Expressway. Before this ramp merges onto I-76, take the 30th Street Station exit (345) which empties onto a one-way street that bends left becoming 30th Street. Go through one light (JFK Blvd.), then turn right onto Market Street. Proceed 5 blocks and turn left onto 36th Street. Proceed 1.5 blocks. Entrance to the Sheraton Hotel parking garage will be on your left (about 200 meters from Chestnut Street).

From the West via the Pennsylvania Turnpike
On the PA turnpike, use Exit 326, the Valley Forge Interchange. Take I-76 East for approximately 16 miles until Exit 345, a right lane exit marked 30th Street. The exit empties onto a one-way street that bends left becoming 30th Street. Go through one light (JFK Blvd.), then turn right onto Market Street. Proceed 5 blocks and turn left onto 36th Street. Proceed 1.5 blocks. Entrance to the Sheraton Hotel parking garage will be on your left (about 200 meters from Chestnut Street).

From the North via I-95 South
Use the I-676/Center City Philadelphia Exit. Follow signs to I-676 West, the Vine Street Expressway. Take I-676 West until I-76 East, the Schuylkill Expressway. From the South via I-95 North
Use the I-676/Center City Philadelphia Exit which is approximately 7 miles north of the airport. Follow I-676 West, the Vine Street Expressway, until I-76 East, the Schuylkill Expressway. Before this ramp merges onto I-76, take the 30th Street Station exit (345) which empties onto a one-way street that bends left becoming 30th Street. Go through one light (JFK Blvd.), then turn right onto Market Street. Proceed 5 blocks and turn left onto 36th Street. 1. Head northeast on Convention Ave toward South Street
2. Turn left on South Street
3. South Street turns slightly left and becomes Spruce Street
4. Continue walking west on Spruce Street to 249 S 36th Street

For Sheraton University City Hotel:

1. Head northeast on Convention Ave toward South Street
2. Turn left on South Street
3. South Street turns slightly left and becomes Spruce Street
4. Turn right at 34th Street
5. Turn left at Chestnut Street
6. Hotel is on the right, just before 36th Street

From Philadelphia International Airport

Taxicabs run regularly to Center City (Cost $28 + tip)

Airport Express Train (SEPTA)
Train station right outside of airport entrance (look for signs)

By Shuttle (Lady Liberty)
Shuttles available from 5:30AM to midnight. Go to airport's Ground Transportation Center (next to Baggage Claim, follow signs) and speak with person at counter to call Lady Liberty. Ticket number will be called when shuttle arrives. (Cost $10 + tip)
